How to earn money from walking

How to earn money from walking

Whether you strut or barely break a snail’s pace, if you have the steps, you can turn the walk into money, a run, or gifts. Here’s how?

Can you make money walking? Surprisingly yes, in many ways. As well as revealing the freebies you can get just by putting on a pair of sneakers, we’ve gone one step further to show the full-blown business ideas you can get started just by walking. As with anything, the more time or struggle you put in, the better the prizes. Either way, if you’re looking for unusual jobs, apps that pay you, or bright student startup ideas, you’ve come to the right place.

If you’re searching for an app that pays you to run, these are the best:

Sweatcoin

The Sweatcoin app allows you to collect “Sweatcoins,” which can then be redeemed for real rewards within the app. You earn 0.95 Sweatcoins for every 1,000 outdoor steps (roughly half a mile). You can then use your coins to receive discounts and sometimes free things from the App Store. At the time of writing, this includes things like a 60ml bottle of JinJin syrup (30 Sweatcoins), wireless Bluetooth headphones (350 Sweatcoins), and even a £1,000 holiday to the south of France (20,000 Sweatcoins), but it’s changing each time tag.

Donating your Sweatcoins to charity and bidding on auction prices is also possible. Without upgrading to the premium account (which costs £24.99 per year), you can collect 10,000 steps per day or 9.50 Sweatcoins. The key is to save coins by following the steps you would be taking anyway.

We asked members of our Facebook group, and they reported that the app gave them everything from virtual personal trainer sessions to customized dog food and protein shakes. But there are also some downsides to Sweatcoin reviews.

Better Points

BetterPoints is similar to Sweatcoin in that you earn points for exercise, such as walking, running, or cycling. You can collect both BetterPoints and BetterTickets. Enter sweepstakes to win a large number of BetterPoints. To start earning, go to the app and sign up for a program. For example, one of its rewards programs rewarded users with a BetterTicket for every mile traveled, giving away 5,000 BetterPoints each week.

When writing, you can redeem your BetterPoints for rewards, including a £2 Argos Gift Card for 2,000 BetterPoints, a £5 Pizza Express Gift Card for 5,000 BetterPoints, and a Pizza Express Gift Card for 5,000 BetterPoints. £10 from Ikea for 10,000 BetterPoints.

Win-walk

When you use winwalk, you get one min walk coin for every 100 steps you walk, up to 10,000 steps per day (100 coins). These coins can be used to redeem gift cards, such as £10 on Costa (21,000 coins), £10 on Primark (21,000 coins), or £15 on Netflix (31,500 coins). It seems like many steps, and to be honest, it is. Min walk has a very, very long lottery feature to win money. For just 65 Winwalk coins, you can enter a draw to win a £5 voucher at various stores, including Amazon, Primark, and Tesco.

You can also complete “missions” that earn you over 1,000 coins by taking surveys, downloading apps, and doing other simple tasks.

LifeScan

Like SweatCoin, LifeCoin rewards you with your in-app currency that you can redeem for rewards. For every 1000 steps, you get 0.95 “LifeCoins.” Unfortunately, you can only earn up to 5 LifeCoins per day. Walk unless you sign up for their premium subscription (which isn’t worth it). However, you can make more LifeCoins by inviting your friends.

Although the prices are pretty good, you will need to save up some LifeCoins before you can withdraw them. As of this writing, prizes include a $50 eBay gift card for 2,500 LifeCoins and an Apple iPad Mini for 20,000 LifeCoins.
